Production d'oscillations par les diodes à effet tunnel

Abstract
The generation of oscillations by a tunnel diode in a parallel tuned circuit is studied by means of a graphical solution of the equations giving the dynamic characteristics. Another circuit has also been examined, with the diode in a series tuned circuit. If the diode capacity could be neglected, the graphical solution would lead to a relaxation operation, with constant-current switching transitions. This gives an approximate dynamic characteristic. However it is shown that the actual curve depends very much upon the diode capacity.

La production d'oscillations par une diode à effet tunnel, dans un circuit résonnant parallèle, est étudiée au moyen d'une méthode d'intégration graphique des équations fournissant une caractéristique dynamique. On examine aussi un autre montage, dans lequel la diode est introduite dans un circuit résonnant série. En négligeant la capacité propre de la diode, la méthode graphique conduit à un régime de relaxation avec des transitions brusques à courant constant. Elle permet effectivement de retrouver une caractéristique dynamique approchée. Cependant, il apparaît que la courbe réelle dépend fortement de la capacité de la diode.
